I spend my days in medicine and my nights in medicine too stories. They're not so different. Both ask the same questions: Who are we to each other? What do we carry? What do we leave behind?I write plays and creative non-fiction that move between the personal and political, from the inherited to the forgotten. If you're a director, editor, or just someone who read something and wanted to say hello, I'd love to hear from you!

My Writing

I write plays, essays, and snippets relating to medicine.

I try to find the small and domestic inside the big issues of the day: a conversation over dinner that holds the weight of a whole community's hopes; a single room which contains the world ...

My essays tend to stay close to Britain. I find myself repeatedly drawn to it's inexhaustible collection of stories. I particularly want to shed light on forgotten stories... the lives which don't make it onto the page.

Seniors often ask: "What's the patient's story?" Medicine is the act of decoding the patient's symptoms, worries, and expectations and providing. I want to find out what makes the system tick.
